There are moments in time when the wind shifts so quietly we almost miss it. And then there are moments like this, when everything feels slightly off course.

People are searching. Questioning. Reaching for something steady.

And underneath it all, there is a quiet question many are not saying out loud:

Have we lost our bearings?

We live in a time where trust in authority has eroded. Not just in governments or institutions, but in the everyday structures that once held order.

We question our leaders.
We resist our bosses.
We doubt the systems around us.

Even when we do not agree with those in positions of authority, something deeper has shifted. It is not just disagreement. It is a loss of respect for the role itself.

And while some of this questioning is necessary, even healthy, it has left a gap.

When Outer Authority Fades

When outer authority breaks down, something must take its place.

But for many, that inner structure was never fully built.

So what happens?

We become highly aware, deeply intuitive, and sensitive to what is happening around us. We can feel what is true. We can sense what is off.

But we do not always feel steady.

We second-guess.
We overextend.
We try to manage outcomes.

We look outward for direction, even as we distrust what we see.

This is the disorientation many are living in.

It is not a lack of insight.
It is a lack of inner support.

What I Have Seen in My Own Life

In my own life, I have seen this pattern clearly.

Every time my work was aligned, it came from source. It moved without force. There was a natural current guiding it forward.

And every time things began to wobble, it was when I tried to take control. When I believed I could push it further, shape it more precisely, or improve upon what was already moving.

The results were not failures. They were simply not clean. They did not carry the same strength.

It took time to understand that what was missing was not more intuition or more effort.

It was structure.

A way to hold myself steady from within.

What Was Missing

Many of us were never taught how to feel supported, protected, and grounded in our own authority. We learned how to feel, how to care, how to respond.

But not always how to stand.

So we compensate.

We overgive.
We overthink.
We step in too quickly.
Or we hesitate when clarity is already present.

This is not weakness. It is an imbalance.

In my work as The Practical Shaman, I have come to see this as a disruption in what I call the fathering principle. Not the person, but the function.

The part of us that provides structure, direction, and protection.

Restoring Inner Authority

When that function is steady, something shifts.

You no longer need to control everything around you.
You no longer collapse when things change.
You can feel deeply and still remain grounded.

This is what it means to regain your bearings.

Not by returning to old systems or placing blind trust in authority again.

But by restoring the ability to stand in your own inner authority.

To listen.
To discern.
To act from a place that is not reactive, but rooted.

The world may continue to change. Structures may continue to rise and fall.

But when your inner axis is steady, you are no longer thrown by every shift in the wind.

You can stand.

And from there, you can move with clarity.

An Invitation

If this speaks to something you have been feeling, you are not alone.

I am holding a small 3-hour experiential class on Inner Authority: Restoring Protection, Boundaries, and Trust.

This is a space to work directly with these patterns through practical shamanic tools, guided journeywork, and grounded practices you can apply immediately in your daily life.

If you are ready to feel more supported from within, to trust your own decisions, and to stand steady in times of change, you are welcome to join me.
